About:

Chad Waples (he/him/his) is a multifaceted artist with a fervent passion for the intersection of art and science. His richly diverse skill set spans cutting-edge technologies, including Computer Numerical Cutting (CNC), woodworking, 3D printing, and laser engraving.

His academic journey includes a Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art from the University of New Mexico, coupled with a certification in Internet of Things: Coding & Hardware Design.

Chad boasts an extensive portfolio, featuring an array of artworks, from traditional paintings and drawings to intricate 3D printed installations. He actively explores innovative mediums, exemplified by his creation of a 3D printed geodesic dome adorned with glitter plexiglass. This captivating work took center stage in the Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum's Annular Eclipse Temporary Public Art Installation.

 

His unwavering commitment to the fusion of art and technology is evident through his contributions to public art projects and exhibitions. Beyond his artistic pursuits, Chad's devotion to education and art is vividly expressed in his roles as an educator and at esteemed institutions like the Albuquerque Academy.
